Connecting With You’re People

I think it’s safe to say (and I’m sure you’ll all agree) that the journey through FTD is isolating, desolate and often times intimidating. Losing a loved one is life changing, but we … in this club… know that losing them in this way is downright brutal.

Amirite?

During the turbulent times of uncertainty and despair, it’s important to find your people. Seek out the people who get it and if they don’t fully understand, that’s ok too as long as they are a safe space to land and a comfort for the really hard days. Because, you guys, the days can be hard… Fortunately, though, we can do hard things.

Again, Amirite?

When you find the listening ear or the sympathetic support group or that one friend who is always there, the grueling can become just a little lighter. And that shift can mean the world. When you find your people, you just know. There is a connection and an instant union. You know how they say “misery loves company” – I propose we change it to “a fighter values their army.” We, as human beings, thrive on sustainable relationships and the feeling of validation and encouragement. An army that has your back, so to speak.

I’ll ask ONE MORE TIME…. Amirite?

We have been so honored to be part of your army, you guys. A soft space to land and two people (that’s me and Maria!) who completely get it. It’s beyond what words can explain how privileged we feel to be part of your journey. Thank you for allowing us in. With that being said, we would love to introduce you to an army that we just enlisted. LearnFTD and Remember Me have joined forces and created a partnership based on one common goal: advancing research to hopefully find future potential treatments.

Your girls at Remember Me were drawn to LearnFTD because of their hopeful and straightforward presentation. They are hyper focused on spreading awareness and information on genetic testing because, YOU GUYS!, genetic testing can bring hope by leading to potential participation in clinical trials and research towards future treatments! And don’t we all want that?

You can learn more at www.LearnFTD.com … Oh, and join their mailing list (link at the top right corner of their website!) so you stay in the know. We are proud to partner with people who have our back… our army.
